Gastronomic Forum Barcelona 2019 is celebrated under the motto "(Re)think about gastronomy", which translates into an invitation to reflect on the current gastronomic moment, to highlight talent and promote more sustainable businesses. Thus, during the event, issues such as sustainability and territory, the role of women in gastronomy, the effervescence of cooking in Europe and the balance between tradition and innovation will be emphasized.

The fair will have about 300 exhibiting firms that will occupy a total of 10,000 m2 (6,000 m2 of exhibition space and 4,000 m2 for activities). Through the more than 100 scheduled activities, Barcelona Gastronomic Forum 2019 becomes a platform to showcase the most innovative proposals and share emerging kitchen trends, the commitment to proximity products and the fashion of the restaurants with their own garden.

50 chefs totaling 31 Michelin stars

In this year's edition there will be a program with more than 75 demonstrations and gastronomic and oenological presentations, 50 chefs with a total of 31 Michelin stars, 30 conferences on business, digitalization and sustainability in the restoration and live competitions such as The Best Dessert, the Spanish Panettone Craftsman Championship; the Favorite Dish of the Catalans 2019; or the InnoFòrum Awards that will recognize the most innovative product, the most creative packaging or the most original flavor.

Canned mussels in albariño vermouth sauce

Among the novelties and gastronomic curiosities that you can find stand out the canned mussels in albariño vermouth sauce, the aerated chocolate nougat with salted almonds, the spider crab pate and garlic prawns, the barbecue meatballs, the cheese fuet XXL or the vegan cheese of aioli, all sustainable, healthy and gourmet proposals.
