The north of Europe has burned, as well the south. And beyond. The thermometer rises steadily and paddle surfers have moved to the lakes of Siberia. Meanwhile, a handful of scientists monitor the permafrost of the tundra. The signing of international treaties is no longer worth as much as before, and strike here, strike there. Nevertheless, with the appearance or the certainty that the world swings on a tightrope, we go on vacation.

As you know, in August, the events are also going to take a dip or a walk on the footpath of a mountain. You have the two major festivals, the one in Gràcia and the one in Sants. The programs have not yet been published but in the pages we include the links to go looking at what day the devils will run and when the castles will go up.

We welcome those who visit us and come back safe and sound who leave Barcelona. Until September.

The Pavelló Screen Cinema cycle brings us closer to the relationship between the built space and the inhabitants that reside there. Architecture, and with it the cities, influences the way we live in the same way that rules of coexistence and laws do. The Mies van der Rohe Foundation offers a tour of different cities and their representation in the cinema with projections directly on the travertine marble of the Pavilion. In this edition, the cycle focuses on Rom.

The Fiestas of Gràcia have a long tradition and are one of the most famous in Barcelona for the various organized activities, but mainly for the decoration of the streets and balconies. Neighborhood associations work all year round to decorate the street to which they belong. First they decide the theme and then they design and create all the decorative elements based primarily on recycled material. The themes are different and so we can find a street dedicated to prehistory, another to space travel and another to love. But the important thing is to participate, a competition between the streets is organized and prizes for the three best decorated streets are granted. Oh, and the themes are secret until the day when the festivities begin. There is as well another competition, the decoration of the balconies in which each neighbor can participate.

When the fiestas de Gràcia  end, the Fiestas of Sants begin , so anyone who has not had enough or could not go there has a second chance, because each of the two Fiestas has its own style.  The Sants residents participate in the streets as well, decorating in a similar way as it is done in the Gràcia quarter.
