This exhibition includes a selection of paintings related to Velázquez, the Spanish royal collections and the Spanish painting of the Golden Age. An occasion that you can not miss to contemplate the work of the Sevillian master together with that of other geniuses of his time such as Rubens, Tiziano, Ribera, Girodano, Brueghel the Elder, Van Dyck, De Lorena, Murillo or Zurbarán. To understand the work of Diego de Velázquez (1599-1660) it is essential to analyze his work outside the Spanish artistic context. And that is what this exhibition does.

The black novel festival BCNegra 2019, which reaches its fourteenth edition, has positioned itself as one of the most important dates of the black crime genre. This year's edition has as its main space the Jaume Fuster Library, but it is open to new spaces such as the Palau de la Virreina, the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm, the Aribau cinemas, the Sala Apolo or the Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona (FNOB). And what does the FNOB look like at BCNegra? Very easy. This year's edition is celebrated under the title of Port Apache. Port, the one of Barcelona of course but also the one of other cities. The port as a physical space and as a mental territory, more mentally if we talk about literature. The port, with its partner the sea, is a free territory, a place outside the world that we know, strange, different ... and above all free.
