Barcelona Poetry is a festival that celebrates poetry in many ways. In the 8 days of the festival you can attend poetry readings, round tables, talks and events with other formats that unite the visual arts or dance with poetry. In total you will be able to attend more than 40 cultural proposals. Barcelona Poetry recites the poetry of the present without forgetting the great references of the past and programs the International Poetry Festival. In addition to the central program there are many activities organized by libraries, civic centers, associations and different entities. More Poetry is the name under which these activities are grouped.

Barcelona Poetry, 2024 edition

Barcelona Poetry 2024 seeks to revitalize human connection through poetry, highlighting the beauty of the everyday. The festival focuses on simplicity and concreteness, seeking to reveal human exceptionality in common gestures. Poetry acts as a buttress in an era of urgency and stridency, preserving the human essence. This year, the event expands throughout the city, bringing poetry to the streets, squares and homes. It proposes to explore new ways of enjoying verse, from its pure expression to its combination with music or theater. The festival will feature a variety of presentations in different languages, including Catalan, Spanish, Slovenian, French and Basque. In addition, it seeks to surprise the public with unexpected events, such as a "poetic antimanifestation".

Within the framework of Barcelona Poetry, the 39th International Poetry Festival will be held on May 22 at the Palau de la Música.

All Barcelona Poetry activities are free of charge except the Barcelona International Poetry Festival. Some activities require prior reservation, which is indicated in the program.
