Refik Anadol, born in 1985 in Istanbul, Turkey, is a multimedia artist who has been noted for his work on the aesthetics of artificial intelligence.
His research focuses on learning how the digital age and artificial intelligence allow new aesthetic techniques to create immersive environments. Anadol invites its audience to imagine alternative realities by redefining the functionalities of both interior and exterior architectural elements.
Anadol's works explore with artificial intelligence the space between digital and physical entities by creating a hybrid relationship between architecture and media arts. Through his work, born at the intersection of art, science, and technology, Anadol has created three-dimensional sculptures and paintings, live audiovisual performances, and immersive virtual and physical installations.
