Loop Barcelona

Loop is a platform dedicated to the study and the promotion of the moving image, created in 2003. Since its start it offers a careful selection of video-related contents from innovative perspectives. It develops projects with an international community of artists, curators, gallery owners, collectors and heads of institutions, with the aim of exploring the possibilities for video and film in the discourse of contemporary art.

The activities, paid and free, are spread throughout the city in museums, foundations, temporary exhibition centers, libraries and other spaces.

Loop Barcelona is divided into three main sections:

• Loop Fair (November 17-19): selection of films and videos by contemporary artists presented by international galleries. Museu d’Història de Catalunya, Plaça de Pau Vila, 3, 08039 Barcelona. Due to the current health situation, the LOOP 2020 Fair will host 28 galleries from 17 countries on the online platform of its website (from November 17 to 26).
• Loop Festival (from 10 to 22 November): exhibitions, screenings and live performances throughout Barcelona related to the creation of the moving image. Several spaces.
• Loop Studies: talks, workshops and professional meetings to promote the recognition of video and film.
