L'Alternativa - The Barcelona Independent Film Festival defends the creative independence of the auteur and scours the current panorama in search of the most original and committed cinema. L'Alternativa is also characterized by supporting young emerging creators and paying tribute to those who have driven the evolution of cinema.
L'Alternativa is divided into three sections: L'Alternativa Official, which is divided into three competitive subsections (National, International Feature Films, and International Short Films); L'Alternativa Parallel, where you can see tributes, premieres, works by little-known filmmakers and new creators, and a family program; and L'Alternativa Hall, which takes place in the CCCB Hall and offers a diverse program with screenings, performances and debates. In addition to screenings, L'Alternativa Activities offers masterclasses, workshops and other activities related to the world of cinema. Lastly, L'Alternativa Professionals organizes the Professional Days and the Mentoring Projects.
