The work of Paula Rego (Lisbon, 1935), heiress of Goya's expressionism and Hogarth's sarcasm, has created, for over half a century, a persistent fable about human nature. The paintings and drawings of Rego investigate with attention how the women have organized spaces of historical disobedience in front of the cultural imaginaries of the patriarchy.
