The dates for this year's event are already known, but details and the programme are still to be confirmed.

The Festival of the Dreta de L'Eixample neighborhood in Barcelona is imbued with modernism, and it could not be otherwise: modernism is a characteristic feature of the area's architecture. One of the most popular activities of this Festival is the Modernist Fair, which this year celebrates its sixteenth edition. This fair is already a prominent activity in Barcelona and every year it has more visitors.

As in most major festivals, a parade is organized with dancing giants, big heads, popular meals, sports competitions, children's workshops, concerts and dances, exhibitions, theater and cinema; all this, with the participation of entities, musical groups and other organizations of the district. The Festival of the Dreta de L'Eixample neighborhood has been organized since 2004.

The Modernist Fair

The fair takes place on Carrer de Girona, between Carrer Diputació and Avenida Diagonal, and in other regular spaces such as the Mercado de la Concepció. However, this year, it will be held exceptionally on Bruc street, between Diagonal avenue and Consell de Cent street. At the fair you can find objects, gastronomic products, dresses, music and decorative elements of the time. The specific program of the fair also includes demonstrations of ancient trades, car exhibitions, children's games and guided tours, among other proposals.

About the 2023 edition

This year's Fair will be dedicated to the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, on the occasion of the celebration of the Domènech Year. There will be a presentation at Casa Elizalde, where the architects Lluís Domènech i Girbau and Claudia Sanmartí will talk about the architect's work. In addition, they will offer a free sticker album and a dance and theater show dedicated to Domènech i Montaner, as well as a children's workshop on his work. The Fair will also feature an exhibition of a vintage vehicle, a Timisoara stall showcasing the city's Art Nouveau heritage, and a juggling workshop.
