The Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Música Catalana and L'Auditori, under the umbrella of Barcelona Obertura and in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council, return with the free Classical concerts on the beach on July 11 and 12 at the Platja de Sant Sebastià, expanding its format and with names of international reference and impact. The initiative, which also has the collaboration of the "La Caixa" Foundation, wants to continue bringing symphonic music to the whole society and make it accessible to all audiences. On this occasion, the two concerts will be the highlight of the Regata Cultural, the program of cultural activities that accompanies the America's Cup.

The first concert, scheduled for July 11 at 9:00 p.m., will feature the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya under the baton of its chief conductor, Ludovic Morlot, and the Orfeó Català, accompanied by great Catalan voices such as soprano Serena Sáenz and baritone Josep Ramon Olivé, and renowned international voices such as mezzo-soprano Rinat Shaham and tenor Freddie de Tommaso. The repertoire will be a tribute to the anthems of great sporting events and will include pieces as appreciated by the public as the last movement of the Ninth Symphony by L.V. Beethoven, the aria Nessum dorma from Turandot by G. Puccini, the O'Fortuna by C. Orff and the mythical theme Barcelona, which Freddie Mercury composed for Montserrat Caballé and the 1992 Olympic Games.

The second concert, scheduled for July 12, also at 9:00 p.m., will feature the Cor i l'Orquestra Simfònica del Liceu, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, with the participation of two internationally renowned soloists, violinist María Dueñas and cellist Pablo Fernández, and with the collaboration of the Cor Infantil de l'Orfeó Català (Children's Choir of the Orfeó Català).
