Fiesta Mayor de Poblenou

Poblenou is a neighborhood in the San Martín district that for many years had its own life away from the center of Barcelona, which has allowed it to have a special character that is still alive. When the main festival approaches, all the entities of Poblenou become actively involved in the organization of the activities that take place during the festival. The offer is wide and varied: music, art and dance, and of course popular culture : giants (with the emblematic parrot of 36), correfocs, human towers, popular meals, children's workshops and sports championships .

Exhibition "150 years of Fiesta Mayor"

From September 8 to 30 (opening on the 8th at 7:00 p.m. ) at the Can Felipa Civic Center (Plaza Josep Maria Huertas Claveria 1). Exhibition, to reclaim the Festival as a living activity with memory, the present is the future of the past. Proclamation parade

September 9 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Start at Rambla del Poblenou (section between Pere IV and Sancho de Ávila streets), and go down the Rambla to Juncar street. It is a festive parade of neighbors prior to the reading of the proclamation of the Fiesta Mayor.

September 9 at 7:00 p.m. on Rambla del Poblenou between Joncar street and Ramon Turró street. The proclamation this year will be given by Maria Favà, journalist and activist born in the Poblenou neighborhood.

Mornings

September 10 at 8:00 a.m. throughout Poblenou. Grallers and timbaleros from Poblenou meet and play the Matinades tune together. From there, they tour the neighborhood, visiting entities and neighbors who invite them to have a bite to eat. The route begins at Rambla del Poblenou, 107.

Traditional games

September 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Can Saladrigas square. Morning of traditional children's games for boys and girls.

Concert by the Barcelona Municipal Band

September 13 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Cassino la Alianza del Poblenou (Rambla del Poblenou 42).

Children's parade

September 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Start in Rambla del Poblenou, at the play center (rambla between Pallars street and Pujades street), going down the Rambla to Doctor Trueta street, Sant Bernat Calbó square, Amistat street, and Guillem de Llúria, Taulat, Topete streets, Plaza Prim, Calle de Topete, Calle Perelló, we will end in the gardens on Calle Perelló. Festive and morning parade of boys and girls from different schools in the neighborhood.

The Correfoc

September 16 from 9:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Start in Plaza Prim, Fernando Poo street, San Francisco street, Taulat street, Rambla to Pallars street, and Rambla to Joncar street Light, sound and tradition with the essential Correfoc de la Festa major. Meeting of Giants

September 17 from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Poblenou Festive Imagery Center (Plaza Can Saladrigas) Planted with giants from all over Catalonia.

Closing parade

September 17 from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Start on Rambla del Poblenou between Joncar and Ramon Turró streets. Traditional parade of giants that will head with its figures of festive imagery and its musicians towards the beach at the beginning of the Fireworks Castle.

Fireworks Castle

September 17 from 10:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Bogatell beach. Closing of the Festival with the traditional and magical fireworks display.
