The Sants, Hostafrancs and La Bordeta Fantastic and Horror Film Marathon is a historic event of the associative fabric of the Sants quarter that reaches its 34th edition this year. Its main and peculiar distinctive value is that attendees make comments, including screaming, while the movies are projected. This behavior has become a tradition that is part of the show, and that is accepted with the idea of ​​making the rest of the audience laugh. Although offensive remarks are sometimes heard, the organization encourages the public to express their comments in a constructive way. This year, however, they have clearly announced that sexist, racist and LGTBIphobic comments will not be tolerated.

Marathon sections

  • Fantasy and horror shorts contest: organized into various categories. Winners receive € 500 and a statuette. During the festival, the finalists of each category are screened and the prizes for that category are then awarded.
  • Feature Film Screening: selection of fantastic and horror films of all time: this year we will be able to see La Pasajera, by Raúl Cerezo and Fernando González Gómez, Spain (2021) / 90 minutes; Tammy and the T-Rex by Stewart Raffill, USA (1994) / 82 minutes; Puppet Master, by David Schmoeller, USA (1989) / 90 minutes; Jostissi de Carreró by Pedro Miralles, Spain (2020) / 90 minutes; and a surprise movie. In video format, Super Mario Bros by Annabel Jankel and Rocky Morton, 1993 (USA) / 105 minutes; We are dead… or what? by Mark Goldblatt, 1988 (USA) / 85 minutes; Troll 2 by Claudio Fragasso, 1990 (Italy) / 95 minutes; Holidays of Terror 2 by Pedro Galindo III, 1990 (Mexico) / 85 minutes; and a surprise movie.
  • Fantasy and horror micro-stories contest: with a prize of € 200 for the best text written in Catalan and € 200 for the one written in Spanish.
