What You'll Find at the 2026 Boat Show
The main attraction of the show is being able to see the boats in their natural element: the water. It’s not the same to look at a sailboat in a catalog as it is to check out the space on its deck, step inside a cabin, or discover how the galley and living areas are laid out on a catamaran.
The exhibition features more than 200 registered boats, including sailboats, motorboats, speedboats, catamarans, and large yachts, as well as companies specializing in marine equipment, electronics, port services, and nautical tourism.
The show is primarily divided between two areas of Port Vell:
- Moll de la Fusta: features motor yachts, speedboats, inflatable boats, and a large portion of the demonstrations and water activities.
- Marina Port Vell: features sailboats, large catamarans, and longer vessels.
Please note that not all boats are necessarily open for interior tours. Some vessels may require authorization from the exhibitor or an appointment, especially higher-value models.

The program goes beyond the trade show. Highlights of this year’s event include:

Is it worth going if you don’t own a boat?
It depends on what you’re looking for. If you love the sea, are curious about what boats look like on the inside, or have ever considered learning to sail, it can certainly be an interesting visit. You don’t need to know anything about engines, boat lengths, or rigging to enjoy the exhibition.
It can also be a good opportunity to find out about sailing courses, certifications, boat rentals, and water activities. Owning your own boat isn’t the only way to enjoy the sea.
That said, the Boat Show is still primarily a trade fair. If you don’t have a particular interest in boats and are just looking for a leisure activity, you might be more drawn to the demonstrations, scuba diving, or the musical lineup than the exhibition areas. In that case, it’s worth checking the program first to make sure there are activities that justify the admission price.
If you’re thinking about buying a boat
For a potential buyer, the show offers something hard to come by during the rest of the year: the chance to compare boats from different brands in one place and speak directly with dealers and manufacturers.
Beyond design or purchase price, it’s worth asking about less obvious factors: annual maintenance, fuel consumption, mooring, insurance, warranty, technical service, and availability of replacement parts. These are expenses that can significantly affect the budget needed to enjoy a boat.

La Nit Nàutica: A Different Kind of Visit
On Friday, October 16, the show will extend its hours until 10:00 p.m. for La Nit Nàutica. It’s an interesting alternative for those who can’t attend during the day or prefer to visit the harbor at sunset.
The nighttime atmosphere, the lighting on the boats, and the special program add a unique charm to the usual tour. Keep in mind, however, that a nighttime visit may not offer the same opportunities to board the boats as a daytime visit.
Tips for Planning Your Visit
- Time needed: About two or three hours should be enough for a first general visit. If you want to compare models, talk to exhibitors, or participate in activities, it’s easy to spend half a day or more there.
- Footwear: It’s best to wear comfortable shoes that are easy to take off, as you may be asked to remove your shoes to board certain boats.
- Sun and Weather: Much of the exhibition is outdoors. Even though it’s October, a sunny day can get hot on the docks.
- Visiting with Children: It can be entertaining for families interested in boats, but there are walkways, stairs, and vessels that aren’t well-suited for young children or strollers. It’s not a children’s fair, although it does include introductory activities.
- Getting Around: The distance between the main areas is approximately 2.2 km. The organizers are offering a boat shuttle service between the exhibition areas.

How to Get to the Boat Show
Port Vell is located next to Barcelona’s historic center. The most convenient metro stations are Drassanes (L3), for easy access to Colón and Moll de la Fusta, and Barceloneta (L4), for access to the Marina Port Vell area.
Given the show’s central location and its spread across several piers, public transportation is usually more convenient than driving. You can also walk there from Las Ramblas or the Barceloneta neighborhood.
