The 2020 edition of the Guitar BCN

This year the Guitar celebrates the most ambitious edition in its history: more budget, more concerts and, as a result, more spectators (expect to exceed 65,000). Let's see the news and highlights.

  • Peter Frampton will remember all his successes in his farewell tour. The British musician is forced to leave the stage due to degenerative muscular disease.
  • The Guitar begins a collaboration with the Festival of the Porta Ferrada of Sant Feliu de Guixols, presenting two collaborations: Joe Bonamasa (August 13), an incredible American guitarist who will feel all his exciting power and his electrifying and characteristic strumming, in which he will be his only concert in Spain for years; and Jethro Tull (August 12), the legendary band of Ian Anderson, who will return to the festival after running out of their concert tickets at BARTS on February 28, at the concert that was part of their tribute tour to their golden age The Prog Years.
  • Mastodonte debuts, finally, in Barcelona with the unclassifiable musical project of Asier Etxeandia (partner of Antonio Banderas in the Almodóvar film "Dolor y Gloria"), and Enrico Barbaro. "Overflowing euphoria" (El País) "Capture, envelop and hypnotize, as it grows masterfully" (Radio 3) are some of the praises this emotional journey has received in the form of a concert.
  • Vetusta Morla will offer a new concert in his particular and original revisit of his album "Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar" in which they premiere a stage where the place, the musicians and the spectators are integrated and are participants in the same space.
  • The new projects of Judit Neddermann, Ciao Marina and Pau Vallvé confirm the festical commitment to local talent that already represents almost 50% of the sale of tickets to the Guitar BCN.
  • The Guitar BCN releases Flamencat, a new section dedicated, as you could imagine, to flamenco. A project born from the collaboration of Palau Robert and Guitar Bcn, to echo the dynamic moment that lives in the Catalan scene. All concerts will be free at the Jardins del Palau Robert, except for Las Norays, which will be held at the Wad-Ras Women's Penitentiary Center.
