The Sagrada Família invites you to feel and share the Christmas spirit with three activities aimed at all audiences: the Christmas workshop, the traditional Christmas concert and the lighting of the Nativity façade.

Children's Christmas workshop

This workshop adapted for children from 6 to 12 years old and their companions that takes place in the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is divided into two parts: in the first part, the Basilica is visited with special attention to the details of the facade of the Nativity, which explains the coming of Jesus into the world. In the second part, the little ones in the house will participate in a crafts workshop in which they will make a pop-up Christmas card.

The workshop will be held on Saturdays and Sundays in December, as well as on December 6, 7, 8, 9, 22, 27, 28 and 29, with sessions at 10:30 and 12:30. The sessions will be held in Catalan or Spanish, depending on the time and day of the session.

+ Information

Illumination of the Nativity façade

The Nativity façade is the only one that began to be built when Antoni Gaudí was still alive. This facade symbolizes the joy for the birth of Jesus but also the illusion and joy of living. During the action, the different sculptural groups on the façade are illuminated, and with background music, the various scenes of the arrival of the son of God are narrated, explaining the symbology of each of them.

How to get there

Since my husband and I can not travel to Spain this year, we would like to know if the Christmas Eve Mass at Sagrada Familia is video recorded or streamed live; and how we might view it from the United States. Any information on this is appreciated.

Hello Sarah,

There is a mass in the morning on Christmas Day at the Sagrada Familia, but not the day before. Usually only some of the Masses considered extraordinary are broadcast and it is indicated on the Mass calendar. Here is the link to access the mass calendar. If a mass is broadcast in streaming, it has to be indicated there.

Greetings and merry christmas!
