The exhibition After the fog, first flowers: East and Orientalisms, from modernism to modernity, is presented by Casa Asia and Casa Vicens. It exhibits a collection of works by 24 contemporary Spanish, Latin American and Asian artists, whose common thread is the floral representation.
The exhibition takes place at Casa Vicens, the first house designed by Antoni Gaudí, which establishes a constant dialogue with its garden, and stands out for its ornamental program of natural themes in all its rooms.
This exhibition project is unique, as it brings together for the first time in Barcelona contemporary artists who share the floral theme as a common nexus, although each of them develops their own creative discourse using different formats and media, such as drawing, painting, photography, video and installation. In addition, this exhibition establishes a relationship between the orientalism of modernism and the globalization of art today.
