The coastline of Barcelona explains the evolution of The coastline of Barcelona

The offer of parking at the airport of Barcelona - El Prat or its surroundings is extensive. The competition has increased the options for both parking and fares, and the result is that prices have gone down. Now we have to make a decision on what type of parking we want when leaving our car at the airport. Not so many years ago the decision was simpler or better said there was no decision because if we were driving to the airport to board a flight, there was only the airport parking. It was a de facto monopoly. Now you can make your decision based on some premises:
Book a parking space at Barcelona Airport
When booking a space in one of these parkings you can access by walk to the terminals of the Barcelona - El Prat airport. It is the official parking of the airport, those of AENA. These car parks represent the most expensive option of all options but the differences are not so great that you opt for other options if you prefer to go by walk to the terminal where your flight departs.
Covered car park located very close to terminal T1 and connected to that terminal by a footbridge. When you arrive in front of the barrier you must not press the ticket button, as the system will read your license plate and will automatically deliver the ticket to you. When you return from your trip, enter the ticket at any parking ATM and the system will validate it so you can leave.
This car park consists of an indoor car park (building) in front of the T2A terminal, an outdoor car park with covered and uncovered parking spaces in front of the T2B, and another indoor car park (building) next to the T2C terminal. The interior car parks are connected to their respective terminals by means of footbridges. Keep in mind that you can park in any of the three parking areas and when you arrive at the barrier the system will read your license plate and will automatically give you the ticket. When you return from your trip, enter the ticket at any parking ATM and the system will validate it so you can leave.
They are the cheapest car parks, even for short stays, although they are more recommended for long stays. These parkings are not at the airport next to the terminals but they have a free transfer service to T1 and T2. You have to look at the transfer time and frequency of service.
The shuttle service takes 5 minutes to reach the terminals and has a frequency of 20 minutes.
The shuttle service takes 10 minutes to reach the terminals and has a frequency of 15 minutes.
These parkings are inside the airport, not next to the terminals, but it does not matter because its added value is that the system is based on the valet service. The car is delivered in the so-called Express car parks (they are very close to the terminals) and a driver will take care of parking it. When you return from your trip, the car will be waiting for you in the Express car park of the corresponding terminal.
