On this page, in addition to information on the means of transport to get around Barcelona, we explain which are the most interesting transport cards and passes for visitors, such as the Hola BCN card, which offers unlimited travel and includes the trip from the airport to the city by metro.
Barcelona has an extensive metro network that is expanding every year and an important bus network. There are also other means of transport such as the tramway, the funicular and the cable car, the latter two of which are more for tourism than for transport as such. The city has a large fleet of cabs. Cabs can be hailed directly on the street by raising your hand or picked up at cab ranks located in strategic places in Barcelona.
Hola BCN! transport card
The ideal card for the visitor to Barcelona. With the Hola BCN! card you can travel without limit in Barcelona city and metropolitan area by public transport: metro, bus (TMB), streetcar (TRAM), urban railroad (FGC) and zone 1 of suburban trains (Rodalies de Catalunya), which includes the metro and train to the airport of Barcelona. including the metro and train to Barcelona airport. There are 4 day passes (2, 3, 4 and 5 days):
Hola BCN + the AEROBUS
If you arrive at Barcelona airport and prefer to take the AEROBUS instead of the metro to get to the city, consider the Barcelona Transport Pass, which includes the Aerobus ticket, the Hola BCN card and the POPguide app, with more than 100 points of interest in the city.
Single metro and bus ticket
The price of the metro ticket and the day and night bus ticket is 2.55 € (fare 2024). Bus tickets are purchased on the buses and metro tickets are purchased at the metro ticket offices, metro vending machines and customer service centers. Single trip tickets are not integrated and therefore are only valid for the metro (except for the airport metro, which has a different price) or the bus.
Integrated cards or passes
In order to buy a transport card or pass, you must first purchase the T-mobilitat card. Then you can recharge this card with the transport passes you are interested in.
First step: obtaining the T-mobilitat card
The T-mobilitat card is a new system for validating tickets and passes for public transport in Barcelona and 35 other municipalities in the metropolitan area. The T-mobilitat allows you to travel with contactless technology. Validation can be carried out using a card or an app. Both the card and the app are like an account where you can buy and add passes.
Obtaining the T-mobilitat online
The process of purchasing this card can be done online, although it is a long and tedious process (which requires sending a copy of the DNI, NIE or passport) not recommended for visitors. Residents of Barcelona and its metropolitan area can purchase online by clicking on the button below.
Obtain the T-mobilitat at the metro vending machines
This option is the most recommended and easiest for visitors to Barcelona. Choose the type of card you are interested in (T-casual, T-usual, etc) at the public transport vending machines. At the end of the purchase process you will get the T-mobilitat with the transport pass you have selected. Please note that you will pay the transport pass + 0,50 € for the T-mobilitat card.
These are the most important transport passes that you can recharge in the T-mobilitat:
The T-casual card
The T-casual (10 trips) is priced at 12,15 € (zone 1, fare 2024) and is valid for the metro, FGC, day and night buses, Tram, suburban trains and Montjuïc funicular. Once the ticket has been validated, the margin for transferring to another means of transport without paying again (for example from metro to bus, or bus to funicular) is 1 hour 15 minutes.
Where can I buy the T-casual?
- Metro vending machines (except machines at airport metro stations).
- Online purchase: TMB Tickets (joint purchase of the ticket and the holder) and TMB App.
- Stations of other operators of the Integrated Fare System.
- Customer service points of other operators.
- TMB information and customer service points.
To take into account
- The T-casual is a single-person card. This card can be used by several people but not on the same trip, i.e. it can only be validated once for each trip.
- The T-casual card is not valid for the Barcelona airport metro stations and cannot be purchased or withdrawn from the vending machines at these stations. If you want to buy it at the airport, you have to go to the vending machines at the train station in terminal T2.
- Buying the 1 zone T-casual card you can visit all of Barcelona day and night, and travel on the airport train, bus 46 and the night buses, including the N17 and N18 that stop at the airport.
The T-usual card
This transport pass is more appropriate for locals but if you are coming to Barcelona for a stay of 2 to 4 weeks, and you will be using the metro and bus a lot, it may suit you. Its price is 42,70 € (zone 1, fare 2024), although it is currently subsidized and costs 21,35 €. With the T-usual you can make an unlimited number of trips on the same means of transport valid for the T-usual, for 30 consecutive days from the first validation.
Where can I buy the T-usual?
- Metro ticket vending machines (except machines at airport metro stations).
- Online purchase: TMB Tickets (joint purchase of the ticket and support) and TMB App.
- Stations of other operators of the Integrated Fare System.
- Customer service points of other operators.
To bear in mind
- The T-usual is unipersonal and non-transferable. When you buy it, you will have to indicate your DNI, NIE or passport number, which will be printed on the card.
- The T-usual card is valid for the Barcelona airport metro stations.
- Buying the T-usual 1 zone card you can visit all Barcelona day and night, and travel on the airport train, bus 46 and night buses, including the N17 and N18 that stop at the airport.
Other cards: for 1 day and for groups
There are other cards that you can take into account to move around Barcelona and that will allow you to move around the city:
- The T-dia can be interesting if you are going to spend only one day in the city, arrive at El Prat Josep Tarradellas airport and want to go by metro to the city from the airport. The T-dia costs 11.20 € (1 zone, fare 2024) and in addition to a round trip to the airport by metro allows unlimited travel for 24 hours on public transport. It is a single-person card.
- The T-grup is a multi-personal card with 70 trips to be made in 30 days. It costs 84,80 € (1 zone, fare 2024). It is not valid for airport metro stations.
- The T-familiar is another multi-person card that allows 8 trips for 30 days. Its price is 10,70 € (1 zone, fare 2024). It is not valid for airport metro stations.
Remember, the price of the metro ticket ticket if you are going to or coming from the airport is different and the T-casual card is not valid.
The Barcelona metro
In Barcelona there are 11 metro lines. Eight of them are managed by the City Council (Metro, TMB), and are recognized by the badge:

It is possible to transfer between Metro and FGC lines. Also with the Montjuïc funicular, the streetcar (Tram), suburban trains and all urban bus lines; all within zone 1 (see zones) and with integrated cards (the most common are the Hola BCN card for visitors, and the T-casual and T-usual for locals, although the latter two can also be used by visitors, see section "Integrated cards").
Barcelona metro timetable in 2024
- Monday to Thursday: 5:00 h - 24:00 h.
- Fridays and holiday eves: 5:00 h - 2:00 h.
- Saturdays and Sundays: continuous service from Saturday at 5:00 h to Sunday at 24:00 h.
- Holidays during the week: 5:00 h - 24:00 h.
- Christmas (December 24): 5:00 h - 23:00 h.
- Mas Blau, Mercabarna and Parc Logístic (L9 Sud) and ZAL | Riu Vell, Ecoparc and Port Comercial | La Factoria (L10 Sud) stations operate every day of the year from 5:00 h to 24:00 h, except on 24 December when they close at 23:00 h.
Please note that the last time indicated is the time at which the last trains leave from each end of the lines. Normally, if the station doors are open it means that the last metro has not yet passed through that station.
Other nights with continuous service in 2023:
- Verbena de San Juan ( from June 23 to 24).
- Festes de la Mercè (from September 23rd to 24th)
- New Year's Eve - New Year's Eve (from December 31 to January 1)

Barcelona metro map
The Barcelona Bus
Barcelona has a large fleet of modern buses that can take you anywhere in the city. Day and night buses (day buses are red and white, night and intercity buses are yellow and white) can be used in combination with other means of transport (see section "The metro" above).
Daytime buses usually start their service at 5:30 am and end around 10:30 pm. Night buses run between 10:30 pm and 5:30 am. At most stops there is a digital panel that indicates the time it will take the bus of each line to arrive at that stop.

Barcelona Tramway
There are two sections of streetcar (called Tram) in Barcelona (Trambaix and Trambesòs) which are divided into 3 lines each. The Trambaix starts at Plaza Francesc Macià and reaches towns such as Cornellà and Sant Feliu in the Baix Llobregat region. The Trambesòs starts at Ciutadella Park and Vila Olímpica and reaches Badalonà and Sant Adrià del Besòs. Remember that the streetcar is integrated into the overall transport system, so you can use the integrated passes. More information about the streetcar.
Barcelona has another streetcar line with a recreational/tourist character. It is the tramvia blau (blue streetcar). It is an old streetcar with a single car whose route runs along the Avinguda del Tibidabo, between the squares John F. Kennedy and Doctor Andreu. The Tibidabo Funicular starts at Doctor Andreu Square. Timetables and fares.
Funiculars and cable cars
Barcelona has two funiculars: Montjuïc and Tibidabo.. The Montjuïc funicular can be taken from the Paral.lel metro station (L2 and L3), on Avinguda del Paral.lel and takes you to the mountain of Monjuïc, near the Fundació Miró and the Olympic stadium. It is integrated in the metro network. The Tibidabo cable car links the Plaza del Doctor Andreu (with excellent views of the city) with the Tibidabo amusement park.
There are two cable cars and you can take them at the Montjuïc mountain.. One goes to Montjuïc castle and the other to Barceloneta, next to the beach, passing by the port and the World Trade Center. Very good views of the city from both.

Barcelona cabs
Barcelona cabs are easily recognized by their yellow and black colors. A green light and a "free" sign indicate if they are available. There are cab ranks (e.g. at Plaça Catalunya), but the easiest way is to wait for a taxi with a green light and raise your hand to stop. Cabs are usually easy to find except sometimes on Friday and Saturday nights in the most central areas (Ramblas, Gótico, Plaça Catalunya, Passeig de Gràcia). They do not accept more than 4 people. Dogs can be transported as long as the cab driver accepts them.
Cabs are available 24 hours a day. The average price of a trip in the city is 12,00 € and the minimum fare is 2,60 €. Some stops (airport, stations, night supplements...) and services (luggage, dogs, nights) are charged separately. Prices are not negotiated, they are those marked by the taximeter. There are also 2 closed fares: the so-called T3, which can only be obtained from apps of several cab companies, and the T4, the fare from the airport to the port of Barcelona, which is 45,00 €.
You can also order a cab by phone. These services are usually fast and reliable. Hotels and restaurants usually take care of calling them on request.

Le choix d'une carte ou d'une autre dépendra du nombre de déplacements que vous allez effectuer. À l'heure actuelle, la carte T-habituelle a un bonus de 50 %, c'est donc une carte à considérer. Il est possible de l’acheter en ligne, mais la démarche est compliquée. Il est plus facile d'acheter la carte dans un distributeur automatique du métro. La opción más sencilla (de las posibles, todas te costarán lo mismo), es coger la línea L5 del metro en la misma estación de Sants y te bajas en la estación de Diagonal. Allí haces transbordo a los FGC y coges la línea S1 o S2 y te bajas en la estación Baixador de Vallvidriera. Estarás a unos 8 minutos a pie de tu destino. Si te vas a mover más por Barcelona, lo mejor es que compres el título T-casual, que te permite 10 viajes y transbordo entre transportes. Si no, pues tendrás que comprar un billete para el metro y otro para FGC.

Buenas, somos una pareja con dos peques de 1 y 6 años que iremos a Barcelona 5 dias. LLegamos a la estacion de Sants y tenemos el apartahotel cerca de El Corte Ingles de Les Corts. Ese dia solo cogeremos ese transporte, al igual que el ultimo dia. Nos gustaria saber que tarjeta coger mejor para esos 3 dias de visita (vamos a ir a ver los monumentos principales, mas Tibidado, Museo Blau y el Acuario). Y también cual seria el mejor transporte para ir del hotel a la estacion y viceversa. Gracias!! La verdad es que paginas como esta facilitan mucho las cosas. Un saludo

Gracias por tu comentario. El peque de 1 año no paga en el transporte público de Barcelona. Para ir de la estación de Sants a los alrededores de El Corte Inglés de Diagonal y viceversa, tenéis una línea de metro directa que se coge en la misma estación de Sants, la L3, la verde. La estación más cercana a El Corte Inglés es María Cristina. Para el tema de moverse por Barcelona os iría bien la tarjeta T-casual o la Hola BCN de 120 horas, pero como el primer o último día solo haréis el trayecto de la estación al hotel, seguramente os saldría mejor la T-casual, incluso si al final tenéis que comprar 2 por persona. Tendrías que comprar 3 cada vez, porque es un título unipersonal con 10 viajes.

You can use the T-usual card if you use, for example, this combination of transports to get temple: FGC (S1 or S2) + Funicular de Vallvidriera + Bus 111. For other combinations, notice that the Funicular del Tibidabo is not included in the T-usual.

déplacements
Bonjour, je vais séjourner 5jours à Barcelone début septembre dans un camping a proximité de l'aéroport. Je comptais prendre la "Hola barcelone Card" 96h pour avoir les transports publics illimités car je vais beaucoup me balader. Mais je ne comprend pas car des fois il est mentionné que tous les transports publics sont inclus excepté les "NitBus" mais quand je tape mon itinéraire pour rejoindre la place de Catalogne le bus métropolitain L95/L94 m'est obligatoire dans tous les cas et je n'arrive pas à savoir s'il est inclus dans la formule... Quand je regarde j'ai l'impression que non, mais quand on lis les détails ça laisse penser que oui.. J'espère que vous pourrez me répondre.

Bonjour, Si je comprend bien, si nous logeons dans ce camping, il ne sert à rien de prendre la carte Hola mais plutôt un T-Casual car ce type de Bus L94/L95/L77 n'est pas inclus dans la Hola Card mais bien dans la T-Casual. Par contre, faut-il prendre la carte T-Casual 1 zone ou 2 zone? Si nous allons seulement du camping (arret de bus Autovia Castelldefels-Begur) au centre de Barcelone ou à l'aéroport? Une T-Casual 1 zone suffit-elle?

Podéis coger los FGC. La línea S2 os llevará a la Plaza Catalunya, pleno centro de Barcelona. El trayexto es de 2 zonas, así que la tarjeta que compréis tendrá que ser de 2 zonas. Por ejemplo la T-casual 2 zonas cuesta 22,40 € (10 viajes) y la T-dia 16,00 € (viajes ilimitados durante un día). Con la T-casual podéis hacer transbordo a la red de metro y autobuses sin que cuente viaje durante 1 hora y media desde que el billete fue validado. Con la T-dia no hay límite.

Tendrías que comprar la tarjeta que más te interese (T-casual, T-dia...) de 4 zonas. Con esa tarjeta te podrás mover con el transporte público por Barcelona ciudad e ir a Monistrol de Montserrat con los trenes FGC que puedes coger en Plaza Espanya. Ten en cuenta por eso que si solo vas a ir una vez a visitar la Abadía de Montserrat, tal vez te salga más a cuenta comprar la Hola BCN y aparte el billete sencillo de ida y vuelta. O mejor comprar el billete conjunto de tren FGC + tren cremallera de Montserrat.

Avez-vous un conseil sur le transport à utiliser en partant de l'aéroport vers l'hotel ibis Styles Barcelona Centre, Hb-004728, Carrer de Provença, Barcelone, Espagne.

Si vous arrivez au terminal T2, vous pouvez prendre le train, descendre à la station Passeig de Gràcia et marcher jusqu'à l'hôtel. Si vous arriviez au T1 ou au T2, vous pouvez également prendre l'AEROBUS jusqu'à la Plaza Espanya, puis prendre la ligne de métro L3 jusqu'à la station Diagonal.

Se déplacer 3 jours sur Barcelone
Bonjour,
Ma conjointe et moi partons 3 jours à Barcelone au mois de Mars 2023 et allons séjourner à l'hôtel H10 Itaca, Avinguda de Roma.
Je tente d'organiser au mieux nos déplacements afin de faire le tour de la ville pour pouvoir visiter le maximum de lieux à visiter et également couvrir l'aller/retour de l'aéroport à l'hôtel.
Pouvez-vous me conseiller concernant le mode de transport à préférer ?

Nous partons 2.5 jours à Barcelone au mois de février et allons séjourner à l'hôtel H10 Port Vell. Je tente d'organiser tant bien que mal notre périple afin d'éviter de perdre du temps .
Pouvez-vous me conseiller concernant le mode de transport à préférer pour nous rendre de l'aéroport à l'hôtel (et vice versa)?
La majorité de nos visites se feront à pieds (les distances semblent correctes entre l'hôtel et les lieux incontournables) sauf le Camp Nou. Comment pouvons nous nous y rendre facilement?
Pour finir, je souhaite éventuellement prendre des tickets pour le bus touristique afin de visiter la ville. Puis-je les prendre le jour même ou alors sur quel site sécurisé puis-je les acheter?

Transport à Barcelone

Pour vous rendre de l'aéroport à l'hötel: AEROBUS + Bus D20 (ârret Plaça Espanya pour tous les deux). Ârret D20 pour l'hôtel: Pla de Palau. Même combination pour le retour.
Bus touristique.
Pour vous rendre au Camp Nou vous pouvez prendre le Bus touristique. Ârret: Museu d'historia de Catalunya (près de l'hôtel). Vous devez changer à l'ârret Plaça Catalunya pour prendre le Bus touristique de la route bleu jusqu'à l'ârret FC Barcelona.

Si vous avez moins de 25 ans, la carte T-jove, qui est valable pour 3 mois. Pour le 4ème mois, vous pourriez acheter une carte T-usual.

T-casual o T-familiar

La tarjeta T-10 ya no esxiste. La equivalente actual es la T-casual. Creemos que te convendría más la T-familiar, porque la T-casual es unipersonal, es decir que para viajar los tres juntos necesitaríais comprar 3 tarjetas. En cambio la T-familiar es multipersonal. Tened en cuenta por eso que ninguna de las dos tarjetas incluye el metro del aeropuerto.

Bus 10 trajets
Bonjour, je viens à Barcelone pour 5 jours mais compte ne prend que peu de fois les transports (uniquement pour aller à la sagrada, le parc guell, et montjuic). Pouvez-vous me confirmer qu'un ticket 10 voyages permet d'accéder à ces lieux ?
Aussi, si je dois faire un changement sur un trajet, par exemple faire bus + métro, est-ce qu'il faut que je recomposte le billet au changement ? (si cela est moins de 75 min)

Avec la carte T-casual 10 trajets, vous pourrez vous rendre à tous les endroits que vous avez mentionnés. Si vous prenez le bus puis le métro, par exemple, vous devrez à nouveau valider la carte, bien que si la validation intervient dans les 75 minutes après la première validation, elle ne comptera pas un nouveau trajet.

je vais séjourner à Pineda de Mar qui se trouve dans la zone 4 et je vais faire des aller retour à Barcelona sants.ma question concernant le T familiar zone 4 est ce qu'il est valable juste pour les aller retour Pineda à sants ou il est valable même dans la zone 1. l'autre question on est 2 personnes , pour l'utilisation du T familiar qui compte 8 trajets lors du compostage par exemple à Pineda direction sants ça va compter 2 trajets c'est à deux compostage consécutif ou un seul ?

Une carte 4 zones peut être utilisée dans toutes les zones qu'elle comprend, mais si vous allez faire des trajets de la zone 1 à la zone 1, il peut être préférable pour vous d'acheter également une carte 1 zone. Concernant la deuxième question, lorsque la carte est validée, vous disposez de 75 minutes pour refaire un trajet sans compter, mais ces 75 minutes sont majorées de 15 minutes pour chaque zone. Autrement dit, pour la zone 4, le temps de changement est de 120 minutes.

L'aéroport de Barcelone esta dans la zone 1 et Calella dans la zone 4, alors oui, c'est possible. Vous devez aller de l'aéroport a la gare de Sants et là bas prendre la ligne R1 de Rodalies jusqu'à Calella.

merci pour votre réponse, pourtant quand on va sur le site de tmb il marque que la Tfamiliar n'inclut pas la ligne L9 pour l'aéroport (même avec 4 zones)et qu'il faut prendre un billet en plus à 5,50/pers juste pour cette ligne... du coup comment être sûre de l'exactitude de la bonne information? La votre ou la leur?😁😉

Les deux informations sont correctes. Pour aller à Barcelone avec le T-familiar, vous devez prendre le train du terminal T-2 jusqu'à la gare de Sants. Si vous arrivez au T1, sachez qu'il existe un bus gratuit qui relie les deux terminaux. Une autre option serait de prendre le bus 46 au terminal T1 qui vous emmènera à Barcelone et qui est inclus dans le T-familiar.

Si vous achetez directement le T-usual, vous recevrez un code avec lequel vous pourrez obtenir la carte dans les distributeurs automatiques du métro. Si vous téléchargez l'application T-mobilitat et chargez la carte T-usual, vous pouvez l'utiliser avec votre portable.

Depende de la cantidad de viajes que vayáis a hacer cada día. Las opciones serían la Hola BCN de 5 días o utilizar tarjetas T-casual. Si optáis por la Hola BCN, tened en cuenta que los días cuentan a partir del primer uso. La opción de la Hola es la más cómoda porque tiene viajes ilimitados e incluye el metro del aeropuerto, aunque esto es interesante si venís en avión, y depende también de la zona en la que os alojéis.

Hola , voy a estar solo en Barcelona solo por 2 dias y la idea es moverme del Best Wester Aeopuerto al centro de Barcelona ida y vuelta con mi familia esos días. Es utilizable la T-familiar para esos trayectos ?

La tarjeta T.familiar no sirve para ir a las estaciones del aeropuerto, pero sí que sirve para el resto de estaciones de la línea que va al aeropuerto, como la estación de Mercabarna, que es la más cercana al Best Western Plus Hotel Alfa Aeropuerto. Desde esa estación, y haciendo transbordo a la línea L1 en la Torrassa se llega a Plaza Catalunya, pleno centro de Barcelona, en unos 40 minutos.

Siempre es difícil recomendar una tarjeta, porque dependerá de la cantidad de viajes que se realizarán y de otros factores, como la comodidad de tener una tarjeta para toda la estancia y de si se llega en avión al aeropuerto de Barcelona. Las tarjetas Hola Barcelona incluyen el trayecto en metro del aeropuerto a Barcelona, otro tipo de tarjetas no lo incluyen y el billete sencillo del metro al aeropuerto cuesta 5,15 € ahora mismo. En vuestro caso, como vais a estar dos días y medio, tendríais que comprar la Hola Barcelona de 3 días, y si vais a moveros en metro y bus por la ciudad, pero tampoco pensaís hacer un uso intensivo de los medios de transporte, la tarjeta a considerar es la Familiar, de 8 viajes. El coste de las 4 tarjetas Hola para 3 días sería de casi 100,00 €. Con ese dinero podéis comprar 10 tarjetas Familiares, es decir, 80 viajes.

La station de métro la plus proche est Maria Cristina sur la ligne L3, mais elle se trouve à 15 minutes à pied de la Clinique IVI Barcelona. Il y a une autre station (Les Tres Torres) à environ 5-10 minutes à pied qui appartient au réseau FGC. Vous pouvez effectuer une correspondance entre le métro et le FGC à la station Catalunya.

Vamos al concierto del jueves en Palau Sant Jordi y nos quedamos por la noche en BCN.
Mi pregunta es,:
Tenemos previsto adquiri la targeta T10, esta targeta de 10 viajes¿ la podemos utilizar tanto mi mujer com yo y hacer el transbordo correspondiente?, me refiero, a que la idea es coger el metro hasta plaza españa y al llegar a plaza España coger el autobus 150 . Al efectuar este trayecto gastamos dos viajes ( uno cada uno con la misma targeta), al hacer el transbordo ya detecta que son dos personas.
Otra pregunta, al haber el concierto en Palau Sant Jordi, ¿ se refuerzan las lineas y hasta que horario estan en circulacion las lineas que pasan por el Palau Sant Jordi?, a parte de la mencionada 150, que otras lineas pasan por el Palau Sant Jordi.
