Ombra is a project of the WeareWe agency and the Oraculo Records label whose aim is to create a meeting place for lovers of analog and avant-garde sounds that do not fit into the current cultural offer. Ombra is a Barcelona festival unique in its category and an ideal alternative for lovers of experimental electronic music, specializing in currents ranging from post punk and minimal wave to EBM/industrial, electro, italo or synth.
Ombra is the festival dedicated to the darkest and most intrinsic part of electronic music.
Ombra Festival 2023 edition
This year, as a novelty, the Ombra changes its usual location and moves to a new space that perfectly represents the essence of the industrial aesthetics of the festival, we refer to the former ENMASA Mercedes-Benz factory.
The first part of the OMBRA line up, which was published last July, already included important names such as Little Nemo, Derriere Le Miroir, The Invincible Spirit, Spike Hellis, Monolith, Codex Empire, Linear Movement, Tamburi Neri or Tolouse Low Trax. Now, we have to add artists like Kris Baha & GHOSTS IN THE MACHINE, the new band that will perform for the first time in Barcelona.
The 5th edition of OMBRA also brings us Mitra Mitra, the duo formed by Violet Candide and Mahk Rumbae that stands out for its minimalist electronic music and the influence received from classic post punk; or The Exaltics, the project led by Robert Heise with his version of electro and acid music. In addition, the German band of the 80s The Invincible Spirit, and Codex Empire, another of the projects of Mahk Rumbae, of Mitra Mitra, and that travels to the most experimental and dark side of the genre. Also taking the Ombra Linear Movement stage will be Peter Bonne's band, which will give its first concert in 40 years at the festival; and Spike Hellis, the LA band that will be performing for the first time in Spain and whose sets incorporate elements ranging from industrial, techno, freestyle, EBM and electro.
