The Puppet Festival is a family cultural activity created with two objectives: to vindicate the puppet theater in all its variants and to offer culture, fun and exciting stories to the public. The program, very varied, is composed of proposals from consolidated and emerging theater companies, especially local.
The festival takes place over a weekend with street shows, indoor and outdoor performances, and performances of different techniques: traditional puppetry, object theater, Chinese shadows, clown parades and hand puppets. The program has proposals for all ages: from 0 to 3 years old, from 3 years old and others for all audiences.
About the 2024 edition of the Puppet Festival
On the weekend of March 16 and 17, the 14th edition of the historic Barcelona Puppet Festival will be held at Poble Espanyol. There will be a total of 40 performances by 12 companies that can be seen on 10 stages spread throughout the venue.
The shows
- Indoor shows: will be performed in the Hivernacle of the Plaza Mayor, the Marquee, the Monastery and the Theater, and will last between 25 and 55 minutes.
- Street shows: between 30 and 55 minutes long. They take place in Plaça Baluard, Plaça Aragonesa and the Pícnic.
- Itinerant shows: 40 minutes long. They take place in the streets of the Poble during the whole day.
Price
- From 13 years old: 12,00 €.
- From 4 to 12 years old: 8,00 €.
- Children under 4 years: free admission (children 0 to 3 years have free admission provided they sit on the lap of an adult and do not occupy a seat.
Important: please note that the ticket includes access to Poble Espanyol and that you can spend the whole day at the site.
