This exhibition shows us the main creative stages of Giorgio de Chirico (Volos, 1888 - Rome, 1978). His work was a constant research in different fields, which was reflected in different artistic periods: an early metaphysical period of 1910 (best known) and in which he shows his personal transformation of classical art through his enigmatic piazzas of Renaissance architecture; the iconographic themes of the 1920s and 1930s; his technical investigations on the painting of the great masters during the 1940s; and his neometaphysical period between 1968 and 1976. His painting had a great influence on Surrealism and other great artists and writers of the first half of the last century.
