This exhibition presents us with 32 artistic proposals in times of collapse and pandemics. The common thread is itself the negation of the title: The irruption. The imbalances that the planet is currently suffering from are narrated as isolated irruptions, but they would belong to a continuum of accumulated phenomena. We are talking about the ecological, climatic and social crisis that we are going through and the multiple ecosystem upheavals, such as the pandemic moment that we are still experiencing.
This exhibition proposes a set of pieces and projects that, from different positions, investigate this situation and the possibilities of art (always limited and partial) to repoliticize imaginations, traumas, fears and planetary urgencies.
The selection of works has been carried out within the framework of a public call prepared between the International Symposium on Electronic Art 2022 (ISEA 2022) and Arts Santa Mònica. The tour has been conceived so that the visitor traces his own narrative or can follow some of the specific itineraries proposed by the curators and invited collaborators.
