The Architecture Weeks are seven weeks that offer extensive programming whose objective is to strengthen the relationship between architecture and citizenship. Barcelona has, in its architecture, an urban heritage of great value, and the Weeks contribute to making citizens feel it even more theirs. This event of events is also a celebration and a meeting space for all audiences, where it is possible to learn together and experience the architecture and heritage of Barcelona.
The Architecture Weeks, organized by the Barcelona City Council and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, have five strategic partners: the College of Architects of Catalonia, FAD/Arquinfad, 48H Open House Barcelona, Construmat and the College of Technical Architects of Barcelona. In addition, some fifteen academic partners participate, including all the Catalan schools of architecture, urban planning, landscape and spatial design.
The 2024 edition of Barcelona Architecture Weeks
This year, 74 organizations and 12 universities have responded to the open call for Architecture Weeks. Together, they will offer more than 183 activities aimed at all audiences, with the aim of reflecting on how the built city has adapted to current challenges that are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, and with our sights set on Barcelona 2026, as the city has been designated as World Capital of Architecture.
In this second edition of the festival there will be artistic installations, presentations of books and publications, films and documentaries, concerts, debates and conferences in emblematic spaces of Barcelona, exhibitions, routes, workshops, parties, competitions and awards.
