The Fiesta Mayor of the Barceloneta quarter is celebrated around the day of Sant Miguel (September 29). During the fiesta are organized Sardanas dances, singing of Habaneras on the beach, correfocs, parades with the giants Pep Barceló and María la Nieta, and parades of the cannon: on the Sunday of the Fiesta, a neighbor dresses like a Napoleonic General wearing a cannon and shooting sweets to the crowd, which is very popular among children. The cannon passes through the streets of the quarter and with every shot the people simulate that they fall down and collect the goodies.

The world faces new challenges that will mark the future of society in the coming years. Technology is changing society in their daily lives. Google in particular and the internet in general are replacing collective memory. The social networks that have come to stay, are impacting us in the way we socialize. Some people are starting to be part of a new disconnected social class, an analogical class and new disorders have appeared related to the use of technologies.

Mil·lenni Festival offers a wide range of musical styles and concerts taken place in the most emblematic concert rooms in Barcelona like the Liceu, Palau de la Música, Razzmatazz, Sala Barts or Sala Apolo. This year's edition begins with José González, who since the release of "Vestiges & Claws" in 2015, has been touring the world with his music. On this occasion he will be accompanied by the orchestra The String Theory, a collective of artists formed as an experimental chamber orchestra based in Berlin and Gothenburg that investigates the limits of contemporary classical music and wild pop. The Festival del Mil·lenni will end at the Coliseum Theater with Pasión Vega and its 20 Carat tour (title of his last album) that reflects the maturity of his 25-year career. Between the two concerts we will have the chance to see the stages of Miguel Poveda with his EnLorquecido Tour, MC50 celebrating their 50th anniversary, Paco Ibáñez remembering the 50th anniversary of his concert at the Olympia in Paris, Kool & The Gang, UB40, Carlos Núñez and Adamo, a classic of romantic ballads, among other artists and outstanding bands.
