Sónar started in 1994 and today has become an international reference among the festivals of electronic dance music. The festival brings together established artists and new talents in all fields of musical and audiovisual production, and as a global event aims to connect creativity and technology disciplines, in both sectors the public and the private.
Since 2002 Sónar has organized over 50 festivals in different parts of the world, adapting its philosophy at unique spaces and environments to present the most interesting international talent and the country where it takes place. In previous years, the festival has traveled to Reykjavik and Tokyo to New York and many other cities.
The activities of Sónar Barcelona are held in two large spaces:
Fira Montjuïc for the Sónar by Day
With concerts, showcases and Sonar + D, whose main aim is to discover and promote new talents
Fira Gran Via L'Hospitalet for Sonar by Night
With the big shows where the most important and leading international music names are presented.
About the 2022 edition of Sónar
This year's edition promises to be historic. Throughout the year, Sónar has added 27 new shows to the festival's program that will take place in Barcelona on June 16, 17 and 18, 2022 at its usual venues of Fira Montjuïc and Fira Gran Via. Among the new additions are global stars such as Eric Prydz, Nathy Peluso, Folamour, Reinier Zonneveld, Helena Hauff, Kiddy Smile and Avalon Emerson or the four-handed tandem of Tiga and Hudson Mohawke presenting their new rave project 'Love Minus Zero'. On March 9, the complete line-up was revealed, with the latest additions, among which we must mention Anfisa Letyago, Jennifer Cardini b2b Perel, UNIIQU3, Paranoid London, Kabza De Small x DJ Maphorisa (Scorpion Kings), Partiboi69, Pongo, Lady Shaka and the special shows by Niño de Elche + Ylia + Banda “La Valenciana”: 'Concert de músika festera', Samantha Hudson: 'Liquidación Total' and Maria Arnal and Marcel Bagés, who present Hiperutopia.

From the Sants station
AVE Sants. In 10 minutes on foot you arrive at Fira Montjuïc or you can take the metro at Sants station to Espanya station, which is next to the fairground.

How to go from Sónar by Day to Sónar by Night
To go from Day to Night, a special bus is chartered. The bus leaves the Avinguda Rius i Taulet on Friday and Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is a second special bus that runs between the Plaça de les Drassanes and the Sónar de Noche, which runs on Friday and Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
