Villarreal CF is the team from the city of Villarreal, the second largest city in the province of Castellón. It was founded in 1923 and since that year it has played at the Estadio de la Cerámica. They were runner-up in the national league in the 2007-2008 season and in the 2005/2006 and 2021/2022 UEFA Champions League, they reached the semi-finals of the tournament (in the 2005/2006 edition they were considered the best debuting team in the competition).
