The Plaça de Catalunya, in the heart of Barcelona, becomes as usual in recent years, a stage where there will be activities for all ages. There will be family activities, concerts, street arts and shows. Throughout the square will be deployed a Christmas scenery, designed by the set designer and architect Juli Sanjuan Palma, which will fill the space with warmth. In the Plaza de la Universitat you can visit the proposal of OFFF Barcelona, a digital arts and design platform, which through a forest of screens and with the collaboration of five digital artists will invite reflection on the winter solstice.

This Christmas, you can see 24 cultural projects of various artistic disciplines with more than eighty sessions and activities, and 95 artists on stage. The events are grouped into 4 categories:

Family Christmas
Barcelona, a Christmas card with Miró, Tàpies and Picasso
2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Antoni Tàpies, the 50th anniversary of the death of Pablo Picasso and the 40th anniversary of the death of Joan Miró. Thousands of postcards with works, drawings and sketches of the three great artists will take flight, like Miró's birds, to reach any place in the world.

A world of cardboard
Hundreds of cardboard boxes that give shape to a meeting space. Return to play with essential objects, of all life, without an apparent value.

Let yourself be transformed by sculptural hairstyles and fantasy make-up inspired by Christmas landscapes from around the world, and visit an exhibition of hats containing Christmas stories.

Guillem Albà & La Marabunta: Fum, fum, festa!
A landing in the center of Barcelona to celebrate Christmas with madness and joy. A great clown with a moustache accompanied by six live musicians. A new show, unique, powerful and full of energy. We will laugh, dance and enjoy. Come with whoever you want, it doesn't matter. Surprises, humor, participation and lots of positive energy. Born in the Andes and based in Barcelona. Afro-Latin music that moves through the tropics through groove, disco, funk or house.

Ten women ready to make a lot of noise. Collective energy in its purest form. Magnetism, power and resistance. Air and lungs. The band presents its new show BPΩ.

Lucia Fumero Trio & Friends

Inspira
Cult group of the Barcelona scene with fifteen years of trajectory and a small long silence of five years. After the hiatus, they return with "Acaba i comença", an album produced by Pau Vallvé. Street arts
Gregarios
An acrobatic show that shows us the most human side of the sport, to finish talking about the friendship between two men. Collaboration and conflict, leader and gregarious. A game of balances. Scale, Chinese mast and acrobatics for all audiences.

Possê
Percussion, dance and theater. A catharsis of positive energy from beginning to end. Eight multifaceted performers in a fresh, contemporary, rhythmic and melodic show.

MiraT
On the dance floor, a man and a big scale. Under the appearance of a beautiful circus show, MiraT is a game of looks: one introspective and the other outward. To look at oneself, to meet one's own loneliness through a personal journey on the language of the circus. And all with humor and freshness.

The game

Opera and circus
The Tower of Christmas
Co-production of the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Barcelona City Council. Opera and circus show that reclaims utopia as a tool for transformation. A musical journey by the hand of Giacomo Puccini and a circus story with balancing acts, rope, hair suspension, trapeze and dance. Eight circus performers, six musicians and four singers will make us hear the true spirit of Christmas.

The fair of responsible consumption and social and solidarity economy.
8th edition of the fair of responsible consumption, where you will find handicraft products, clothing and other textile accessories, culture, books, packaged food, cosmetics, toys and other small gift products that will help you choose, in the city of Christmas, the good and local.

The Solstice
Digital arts installation located in Universitat square consisting of a forest of screens that will project works by various artists interpreting this moment of change and joy. Daily programming of digital arts with 3D animation, generative art, light, animated illustration and film.
