The Chocolate Museum of Barcelona (Museu de la Xocolata) is located on Comerç del Borne street in a building with history, in the former convent of Sant Agusti. It belongs to the Barcelona Confectionery Guild and reflects a world full of chocolate, explaining its production through its different phases. It is a place for adults and children, but especially suitable for children so that they know at first hand, the history of chocolate, from its origins in America, to the sweets of today.
Its objectives are to innovate and modernize the sector based on tradition, and give an impulse to revalue the chocolate and pastry tradition of the country. The museum consists of several areas: the area where history is explained; the place to see the process and making it; a shop-cafe; the pastry area and Sala Barcelona, with large Easter cakes; and a audiovisual zone.
