The Park Güell (1900-1905), initially conceived as an English-style garden city, is perhaps the most unique of the many works that Eusebi Güell commissioned Gaudí. It was declared a monument of universal character by UNESCO in 1984, along with two other works by the brilliant Catalan architect, so we can get an idea of the beauty of this work. Located in the northern part of the city, on the Gracia district, it was acquired unfinished by the city council in 1923.
From the forest of stone columns to the famous meandering bench around the perimeter of the main belvedere (not to mention the house where Antoni Gaudí lived for the last 20 years of his life), the park is a festival of color and fanciful shapes.

The accesses to Park Güell
This impressive park of Gaudí has five accesses, three of them are the best connected with public transport:
- Calle Olot (it is the main one, where the famous dragon staircase is located).
- Carretera del Carmel, 9.
- Passatge de Sant Josep de la Muntanya.
Free access area
The restricted access zone or paid zone occupies 7.9% of the park. That area corresponds to the so-called monumental precinct where most of the buildings are located. The entire area outside the monumental precinct is freely accessible.

The itineraries of Park Güell are not all suitable for people with reduced mobility. In this map you can see the routes that are suitable. The coach park has three spaces for people with reduced mobility and accredited vehicles.
Where is it?
How to get there
Metro: L3 Lesseps / Vallcarca
Bus: 24, 116, H6, D40, V19, Tourist Bus
Park Güell is located on the slope of a hill whose height ranges between 150 and 210 m (330 and 210 ft). That is, the road to get to the park is uphill. If we also take into account that there are three accesses, it is important to know which means of transport we can use but also which will allow us to walk less. The tourist bus stop to get to Parc Güell is at Avenida de la Mare de Déu de Montserrat, 7. From there it takes 10 minutes to get to the park.
