Modernist buildings & monuments

The Park Güell (1900-1905), initially conceived as an English style garden city, is perhaps the most unique of the many works that Eusebi Güell commissioned to Gaudí. It was declared a universal monument by UNESCO in 1984, along with two other works by the great Catalan architect, so we can get an idea of the beauty of this work. Located in the northern part of the city, above the quarter, it was acquired unfinished by the city council in 1923.

From the forest of stone columns to the famous winding bench that surrounds the perimeter of the main viewpoint (not forgetting the house in which Antoni Gaudí lived for the last 20 years of his life), the park is a festival of fantasy and color.

The Park Güell is located on the side of a hill whose height ranges between 150 and 210 m. That is to say, the road to reach the park is difficult.
