With view of Barcelona

Vista panóramica de BarcelonaThe pleasure of the panoramic views, both of a city and a landscape. We go up somewhere, or go up to a bar or a restaurant with good views. A way up. It is the feeling of all, perhaps of control. The possibilities of my perception ranging from here to as far as my eyes can see; This is my territory, this is my experience, albeit fleeting. The sensation of the streets, in the countryside it would be comparable to that of the path forward in a forest and then get lost in the mystery of nature, is the counterpoint to the panoramic view and also the counterpoint to our previous blog article leading through the history and the streets of the old town of Barcelona.

Barcelona, surrounded by the Montjuïc, the Tibidabo and other mountains of the Sierra de Collserola, has many natural sites where they have built viewing platforms to view the city from above.

So we can say, for the price of a bus ticket and in the case of the Tibidabo of a metro ticket (FGC) and another ticket for the Tranvía Blau (Tram), it is possible to reach places which offer excellent views of Barcelona. And if we use some means of transport (funicular del Tibidabo or the Montjuïc and the Port cable cars), we continue to expand the panoramic view.

But if we don't want to go that far, the option is the Monjtuïc, specifically the veranda facing the MNAC Museum, which can be reached from Plaça Espanya without walking too much and with the help of escalators in the steepest sections. By the way, if you have time to visit the MNAC and if you go there on a a Friday or Saturday aternoon, don't forget the Magic Fountain.

Torre Collserola BarcelonaAnd what is the place from which you have the best views of Barcelona? At the platform 10 of the Torre de Collserola, a communications tower designed by architect Norman Foster at the Carretera de Vallvidrera al Tibidabo, with 115 meters above the Turó of Viana mountain (next to the Tibidabo), which is 560 meters above sea level, total: 675 meters and 360 ° panoramic view. On clear days, that's what they say on their website, the view reaches up to 70 km distance. And how do you get there? From Plaza Catalunya it will take about 45 minutes. Means of transport: FCG (lines S1 or S2) to the Peu Funicular station. From there with the funicular Vallvidrier to the last station and from there a 20 minute walk (1.3 km).

And for not making the way for nothing, here the technical details needed:
