In "The Scent of Fall" you can see and smell (with the intensity that a mask allows) a total of 25 pieces created by Ernesto Ventós around autumn.

In this exhibition the works were born from wood, chestnuts, dry leaves, damp earth ... autumn in all its splendor. An invitation for the visitor to be carried away by the smells and colors, which become the precise stimulus to evoke distant memories, places and moments. In the formal aspects, the use of noses by the author as a plastic element, slides the exhibition towards the aesthetics of surrealism and Dadaism. If we add the exhibition space, the first house designed by Gaudí, the show becomes a great little experience.

But who is Ernesto Ventós?

Ernesto Ventós (Barcelona, 1945-2020) was a perfumer whose great artistic sense also made him a creator of art. His deafness since childhood made him extremely develop his olfactory capacity, to such an extent that, instead of looking at works of art, he smelled them. He was fascinated by Casa Vicens and in 2018 he created essences for each of his rooms. The creation could be enjoyed through a guided olfactory tour. During Christmas 2018 and 2019, several of his works were exhibited in dialogue with the house and garden of Casa Vicens. It was the last exhibition in life of Ernesto Ventós.
