Next to Normal is the first Broadway musical to be presented in a 100% immersive format. The play that revolutionized musical theater ten years ago will have its world premiere this month in a new version as part of the Barcelona Grec Festival. Its authors, Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt, have adapted the book to 60 minutes for an immersive space of 2,000 square meters, in which the audience and the actors will share this peculiar setting.

British director Simon Pittman will present a new script for this Pulitzer Prize -winning contemporary book, with a proposal without scenery or props with surround sound design and 360-degree projections on the walls and floor.

Alice Ripley, who opened this play on Broadway, will play Diana Goodman, a role both physically and emotionally challenging, which won her a Tony Award. At his side will be Andy Señor Jr., Eloi Gómez, Jade Lauren and Lewis Edgar. In this adaptation, the role of the psychiatrist will be virtual, with the renowned Adam Pascal representing this character.
