The Grand Slam of Writing

The Grand Slam of Writing is the grand finale of the first season of the Slam of Writing, a writing competition in which four participants have to improvise their texts in front of the public. These improvisers must overcome literary challenges designed for the occasion. Two examples: improvise the texts of a silent film and literary dialogue with dancers.

The authors read the writings while they create them, being projected on a movie screen. A jury composed of personalities from the world of the arts, is responsible for deciding who are the winners: this time, as judges we are accompanied by the filmmaker Jaume Balagueró and the director of the Sala Beckett, Toni Casares, among others.

The Slam of Writing is a format of the Escritura en Vivo group, a non-profit cultural organization that aims to spread the creative writing to make it accessible and attractive to everyone. This organization also organizes a regular Jam of Writing, an event in which the public can participate and write, to the rhythm of the music, improvised.
