This exhibition seeks to answer several questions about nature: what is it? Will we continue to recreate our environment according to our image of nature? How much of what we consider nature is actually a simple simulation? In our society, simulations are often more influential and satisfying than the things they represent. Should we rethink the relationship between people, nature and technology? Media technologies play a fundamental role in our cycle of construction of meaning, they have consequences for our concepts of virtual and real, which are less complementary than is usually thought.

In ECOSS. Ecosystems of the unexpected you will see the following facilities:

  • Pareidolia: a landscape unfolding, in vertical section, like a biological-archaeological field study
  • The Breath of Life: that reveals self-regulation mechanisms.
  • Beyond Human Perception: apparatuses, prosthetic objects that articulate in plants and transcribe their language, take care of them (Symbiotic Transmitter), appropriate and monitor them (e - terrarium).
