In April 2011, the Bach zum Mitsingen project was initiated, an integral cycle of the J.S.Bach cantatas in a participatory format, aimed at singers with musical training and choral experience. The main characteristics of this initiative are that the liturgical date for which Bach wrote each cantata is always respected and that the music is interpreted with Baroque instruments and historical criteria. The works are offered in emblematic churches of Barcelona, such as the Basilica of Santa María del Mar, and in the framework of other events such as the Bach Festival of Toulouse Passe ton Bach d'abord or the Bachcelona Festival, created in July 2013 by Bach zum Mitsingen.

The project is made up of professional musicians and singers, whose main structure includes the BZM Chamber Choir and the BZM Ensemble for instrumental accompaniment. Pau Jorquera and Daniel Tarrida are the founders and directors of the Bach zum Mitsingen.
