To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the inauguration of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in 2017, CaixaForum in Barcelona presents a selection of 62 masterpieces, including 8 paintings from the MNAC Thyssen repository. This is the first time that a large collection of Thyssen masterpieces has been exhibited outside Madrid.

The aim of this exhibition is to show in Barcelona a Thyssen that has never been seen in Madrid, because of the order in which the works have been installed and their organization in five sections: religious painting, portraiture, still life, landscape and urban landscape. In the exhibition we can contemplate works by Fra Angelico, Bellini, Brueghel, Rubens, Rembrandt, Canaletto, Cézanne, Pissarro, Picasso, Chagall and Hopper among others.
