Between 1950 and 1977 one of the most important periods of Catalan art of the twentieth century was developed, beginning after the Dau al Set period and continues through the process of democratic restoration in Spain and the Catalonia institutions. This exhibition aims to establish a chronology of those twenty-seven years by focusing, sometimes in the shade of historiography, the evolution of contemporary artistic practices in Catalonia. The exhibition features nearly 400 works-paintings, sculptures, films and documentary-materials in order to complete the historiography of the period and considering beforehand what could be a permanent exhibition of the National Museum.
