The Sala Montjuïc open-air cinema is one of the references of Barcelona's summer cultural program. One of the keys to the proposal is the combination of cinema in original version on the big screen with films and short films, live music and the possibility of dining outdoors in a setting like the moat of Montjuïc Castle. The 2023 edition of Sala Montjuïc
This year, the opening film will be "The Triangle of Sadness"directed by Ruben Östlund, who recently won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and was also nominated for the Oscar Awards. This film is a funny, wacky and thoughtful social satire with memorable scenes. Kicking off the evening will be a performance by the Tori Sparks Band, a talented Chicago-born, Barcelona-based singer-songwriter who fuses styles such as rock, blues, country and flamenco.
During the evenings at Montjuïc Castle, several outstanding films will be screened. Among them will be. "Everything at once everywhere"the big winner at the Oscar Awards. As part of the collaboration between Sala Montjuïc and the Grec, four Nits Grec will be offered following the theme of the Barcelona festival. On this occasion, social and political issues will be addressed through the selected films: "As bestas," "Argentina, 1985," "Al descubierto" and "Un año, una noche.".
As is tradition at Sala Montjuïc, the surprise film will close the 21st edition on August 4, keeping its title secret until the last moment.

How to get there
You can arrive by car or motorcycle. You can park in free areas around the Montjuïc Castle.
For the ascent you can use the bus line 150 that leaves from Plaza Espanya. For the descent there will be a bus to Plaza Espanya.
