The Primavera Sound festival has been held in Barcelona since 2001 and has established itself as a world reference for the urban festival model. The musical selection is based on eclecticism and coherence, but also on risk. Music so that spectators of different generations can enjoy the live music experience to the fullest with pop, rock and the most underground trends of dance music as protagonists.
Primavera Sound 2024
Primavera Sound has revealed the impressive program for its 2024 edition in Barcelona, a gift for the festival's fans. Headlining the 22nd edition will be such notable artists as Lana del Rey, SZA, Pulp, VAMPIRE WEEKEND, Mitski, Charli XCX, Justice, PJ Harvey, The National, FKA twigs, Bikini Kill, Deftones, Troye Sivan and Beth Gibbons. The festival, which returns to its weekend-long format in Barcelona, will take place at Parc del Fòrum from May 30 to June 1. In addition, Phoenix will perform at the free day on Wednesday 29th May, and the Brunch Electronik party will close the event on Sunday 2nd June.
The retro graphic image of Primavera Sound 2024 evokes the magical beginnings of the festival in 1994, reflecting a deep love for the city where it all began. The lineup, presented in a spot highlighting Barcelona's iconic venues, includes 150 names that promise a unique experience. This spot is a gift for passionate Primavera Sound fans.
Highlights at the Parc del Fòrum
29th May
- The day of free concerts will be led by the unbeatable Phoenix, the modern incarnation of veni, vidi, vici turned into a pop band. These Frenchmen offer the perfect combination of fun and sophistication, ideal for an unbeatable musical experience.
May 30th
- Pulp will return to Jarvis Cocker's favorite festival, presenting their collection of unusual anthems; VAMPIRE WEEKEND will reunite with the audience they grew up with, sixteen years after their first and only performance at the Parc del Fòrum; Justice will throw their own party with inevitable French flair; Deftones will activate their nu metal; and Beth Gibbons will open the waters to cross over to the other side with her.
May 31st
- Lana del Rey, definitively erected as the great chronicler of American music of this century, will take the stage on the same day as The National (who will unfold that discography in which we feel at home), the Disclosure brothers (experts in turning the Parc del Fòrum into a club), Troye Sivan (pop explosion that will turn Barcelona into the world capital of music for a few days), and Hanna and her band, Bikini Kill.
June 1st
- SZA, a generational talent who has transcended the boundaries of R&B, will perform her first show in Spain. Also on June 2, Mitski will prove that she is already much more than a cult singer-songwriter, PJ Harvey will unfold into all the PJ Harveys she hides inside, FKA twigs will show us her new choreographies, and Charli XCX will present her new era.
And on June 2nd... The end of the party!
- The Brunch Electronik party will close in a masterful way Primavera Sound 2024 on Sunday June 2nd, with sessions by ANOTR, The Blessed Madonna, Chloé Caillet and Mochakk.
Primavera PRO
International meeting with talks, conferences, workshops, showcases and meetings, held in parallel to the festival, aimed at music industry professionals. Since its first edition in 2010, it has become an international benchmark for independent music.
