Film Series: “Big In Japan”

The films of this series make accessible to us some of the successes of the recent Japanese cinema, as well as from Japanese directors and other nationalities. They are adaptations of popular Japanese novels, or films whose theme is related to natural disasters such as the volcanic eruption on the island of Miyake-Jima in 2000 and the earthquake that caused the tsunami in Fukushima and the subsequent nuclear crisis in 2011. There are 11 productions, two of them are devoted to children. This cycle has been organized by Casa Asia and has been possible thanks to the support of the Japan-Madrid Foundation, including fiction films, short films, documentaries and animation films.
