The Festival of Barceloneta is celebrated around the day of San Miguel (September 29). During the Festa Major, auditions of sardanas, singing of habaneras on the beach, correfocs, concerts, dances, parades with the giants Pep Barceló and María la Nieta, and the parade of the cannon are organized: a neighbor dressed as a Napoleonic general carries a cannon and , how he shoots candies, is very popular with children. The cannon passes through the streets of the neighborhood and each time it is fired, the assistants pretend to fall and collect the treats. In addition to these activities, some streets are decorated by the neighbors who organize other activities of their own (mainly music and dance). This festival organized by the Barceloneta Neighborhood Association seems to have started in the mid-19th century, on the occasion of the centenary events of the neighborhood's constitution.
