The British photographer Gavin Evans is known for having portrayed numerous celebrities like Juliette Binoche, Daniel Craig, Dusty Springfield, Morrissey, Nick Cave, Iggy Pop, Björk or Terry Gilliam. Evans works have appeared in publications around the world including the New York Times and the Sunday Times Magazine. The Session presents a series of portraits of David Bowie, reflecting poignantly the man behind the legend. Pafforrd Steve's book, "Bowie Style", the Christopher Sandford "Loving the Alien", and the biography written by David Buckley "Strange Fascination: David Bowie: The Definitive Story" have images of Evans on its cover.

Of all the photographs taken by the artist throughout his career, one of Evans became the favorite of Bowie, who asked that the picture, which showed him vulnerable, should be on the the cover and the last page at the end of the book in the exhibition "Bowie Is", of the Victoria and Albert museum in London. That same photo hung in the singer's office in Manhattan. The exhibition The Session, after passing through Berlin earlier this year, comes to Barcelona with a large number of photos never shown to the public before this exhibition.
