Barcelona Gallery Weekend (BGW) is an event aimed at art lovers, collectors, professionals and artists that began in 2015 with the aim of becoming the benchmark annual event for art in Barcelona. Exhibitions are scheduled in the most outstanding art galleries in the city and activities such as performances, meetings, presentations, interviews, musical exhibitions and guided tours. Free guided tours are also organized in collaboration with Fundación ARCO (ARCO Gallery Walks), aimed at the general public, and family activities (BGW Familiar).
The 8th edition of Barcelona Gallery Weekend (2022)
The 8th edition of BGW will feature 33 galleries (26 in Barcelona, 6 in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and 1 in Santa Margarida i els Monjos) presenting the work of more than 60 artists from 20 countries. On September 15, all the exhibitions will be inaugurated: from 12:00 p.m. for the professional public, and from 6:00 p.m. for the general public.
In this new edition of the Barcelona Gallery Weekend, L21 Factory will participate for the first time, a hybrid project founded in Palma de Mallorca and which last March opened a new headquarters in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, with a production center and a gallery with two exhibition rooms. Suburbia Contemporary is also released, which moved to Barcelona in September 2021 from Granada. N2 Gallery and L&B Gallery return to the event.
